Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Sauté Chiles: Heat oil in skillet over medium. Sauté onion for 3 mins until translucent. Add garlic, green chiles, and cumin; cook 5 mins until fragrant. Season with salt. Set aside.
  2. Mix Patties: Gently combine beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire, 1 tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper. Form into four ¾-inch thick patties. Press thumb in center to prevent bulging.
  3. Cook Patties: Preheat grill/stovetop to medium-high. Cook patties 4 mins per side for medium (Doneness Test: 160°F/71°C internal temp).
  4. Melt Cheese: Top each patty with cheese slice in last minute of cooking. Cover to melt.
  5. Toast Buns: Lightly toast buns cut-side down on grill/skillet for 1 min until golden.
  6. Assemble: Spread mayo on buns. Layer lettuce, tomato, patty, and ¼ cup green chile mixture. Serve immediately.
